When a chart pack beats a full workbench
Signals that you need visual consistency now, not a governed query room yet.
If three people already run trusted SQL and the pain is inconsistent slides, commission a chart pack. If twenty people share credentials and leadership gets conflicting extracts, commission a workbench.
Other signals for a pack-only engagement: warehouse ownership is unsettled, security will not approve new tooling this quarter, or the board only reviews one domain.
Workbench commissions shine when you need role lanes, pin boards, and a rehearsal culture. Mixing the two without a clear owner usually produces a pretty room nobody refreshes.
